"At the moment of commitment, the Universe conspires to assist you." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
*I currently serve Pennsylvania residents. Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes long and occur on a weekly basis. Sessions of varying length and/or frequency may be preferred based on need, scheduling, and progress towards treatment goals. Please feel free to discuss your preferences with me.
All of my services are provided exclusively online using a HIPPA compliant, secure videoconferencing platform called Breakthrough (options such as skype, face time and hangouts are not confidential). This format is preferable to therapy offered via email/ text where you lose the benefit of facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language to build an authentic connection. A face to face therapy session provides a high quality connection very similar to an in person session. Research shows that this type of online therapy (also known as tele-mental health) is comparable in its effectiveness to traditional in-person therapy and in some cases is even slightly more effective than traditional therapy (Journal of Affective Disorders, 2013, Psychiatric Services, April 2012, American Psychiatric Association, 2007, American Journal of Psychiatry, November 2007).
Free 15 minute Consultation
A good fit between you and your therapist is an important part of ensuring you have a positive, successful experience in therapy. Therefore, I offer everyone a free 15 minute consultation prior to starting therapy. This meeting gives us both a chance to see if there is a good fit and to determine whether online therapy will best meet your particular needs.
